The surrounding area did seem a little dodgey but fortunately we didn't have any negative encounters compared to others. "After arriving from a long International flight, I called the hotel to find out where I get the Van to the hotel. Unfortunately, I dont speak spanish and the hotel staff doesnt speak English. I phoned the hotel but the rude receptionist hang up on me more than 4 times because she xouldnt speak English. Very Frustating! "Located in the historic area, where the architecture is lovely. I walked from/to here every day and had no concerns of the neighborhood. Rooms and breakfast were a class above a regular modern tourist hotel. And the staff are friendly and helpful. I'm 75 and active, and would stay here again"

"Good location for the hop on bus tour, not many restaurants locally. But 15 mins walk away and there were plenty. Breakfast was the same everyday, not great if you don't eat ham. Beautiful decor and a good hot shower"
